What animals come to mind when your hear about a scrapyard pet? Believe it or not, we’ve had a whole host of creatures big and small here at Dom’s. In the old days, our neighbours’ ponies roamed the fields. There have been guard dogs as well, naturally. The yard is always chock-full of cats, many of whom made their way into the hearts and homes of our employees over the years.

One of the strangest and most iconic pets we’ve had was Earl, a caiman alligator, who was traded to us as a baby for parts in the 1990s. After an unfortunate tank-smashing incident that left the quickly-growing Earl roaming our office (then wrestled by Kemp shortly after), he was donated to the Indian River Reptile Park near Peterborough. Dom had been itching for another yard pet until one seemingly fell into his lap about 15 years ago: Pat. Dom found our ball python Pat on his front lawn in Ajax, almost certainly a pet that had been dumped by its owner. Pat’s found a happy home here at Dom’s and has been our little mascot ever since.
